Daniels Academy provides powerful international excursions for our students which promote skill development in our four pillars: executive functioning, social learning, life skills, and emotional regulation. Each trip is specifically designed for our student’s unique needs and provides a meaningful experience which will last a lifetime.
Current research suggests exposure to a foreign culture can lead to greater flexibility. Our students are able to challenge some of their culture-specific assumptions and adapt through our multi-cultural learning. Daniels Academy international trips are built upon four research backed principles necessary for successful multi-cultural adaptation: social interactions iwth host country individuals, learning about the foreign culture, borrowing competency from coaches personality traits of assertiveness, sociability, and extraversion, and embarking on these adventures while young. Utilizing these factors, our students are able to develop greater flexibility (executive functioning ) and creativity through our multi-cultural experiences.
From the bustling streets of Florence which inspired the Renaissance to the tranquil meditation gardens of Chiang Mai or the awe-inspiring vistas of Machu Picchu … these novel experiences provide the optimal environment for skills to be developed in an intrinsic fashion. A 2:1 student to staff ratio on trips allow for personalized coaching throughout the experience. The trip itineraries and experiences fulfill academic criteria and students who successfully complete the trip are eligible to receive academic credits.
